James Faulkner has had a prolific and varied career that spans 38 years.

Theatre recently: The Player in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead for ETT. CastiPiani in Lulu at The Almeida, Lenin in Lenin in Love at the New End Theatre. Also A Patriot for Me and Les Enfants du Paradis at the Barbican (RSC). Dear Antoine, Henry IV, On the Spot in the West End. Tours of The Bacchae, The Deep Blue Sea, The Alchemist (Lyric, Hammersmith), Chichester Festival, Birmingham Rep.

TV includes Herod in I Claudius, Simon Kerslake in First among Equals, Rudi Lorimar in Demob, The Blackheath Poisonings, The Contract, Catherine, Devices and Desires, Just another Secret, The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Trial of Lord Lucan, Strike Force, Muck and Brass, as well as many guest lead appearances in major UK series-Inspector Morse, Hamish MacBeth, Lovejoy, Minder, Wycliffe, Taggart etc. and recently Uncle Douglas in Uncle Douglas.

US TV includes Baron Mullens in ABC's Covington Cross, The Martian Chronicles, The Bourne Identity, Deceptions, Guinevere, Highlander, McKenna, La Femme Nikita, Relic Hunter, The Monkey King.

Other TV series include Der Bibel Code (Germany), Napoleon (France), Genghis Khan (Italy), and the title roles in The Shadow Trader (NZ) and Big Man, Small Country (Israel).

French Films: In 1998 James played in French for the first time in Telema's cult hit Le Poulpe. He plays the title role in Le Loup de la Cote Ouest.
